The German obstetrician, Naegele, developed this rule in the 1800s, which is known as “Naegele’s Rule”.

A woman who has a 28-day menstrual cycle, and knows the date of the first day of her last normal period, can arrive at the baby’s due date by bringing the Naegele’s rule to use.
